Ghost Pharmacists in Drugstores
Stories about ghost pharmacists are not new. It is sad that until today many pharmacy owners keep on operating without a pharmacist on duty.

How to Treat Allergic Rhinitis?
Treating allergic rhinitis is not so hard if you identified the allergens that trigger the attacks. The best treatment is avoiding them by controlling the environment.
When it comes to medications, there are plenty to help you. The treatment for allergic rhinitis or hay fever is based on age and symptoms. For some reasons, these medications may not be applicable to your condition. In that case, you need to consult the pharmacist or doctor.
Antihistamines are the first choice of treatment for allergic
rhinitis. Two types of antihistamines are available, sedating and the
non-sedating. Obviously the type that can cause drowsiness is not advisable for
people who need to operate machines or drive a vehicle. There are different
preparations that you can find in the pharmacy, tablets, capsules, syrup, nasal
sprays and eye drops. In order to treat a specific symptom, the right dosage
form must be chosen. For example a person is experiencing itchy eyes cause by
the pollen or other allergens, the ocular antihistamine is the correct form to
use. For people with hay fever and having so much trouble with uncomfortable
running nose, they can use the nasal spray.
There are many over-the-counter (OTC) preparations to choose
from. There are also preparations that need a doctor’s prescription. If you are
not sure what to use, ask the pharmacist.

Right Practice, Better Future

Choosing a field of practice as a Pharmacist is a critical part of a fresh graduate. The scope of pharmacy practice is comprehensive but choosing a specific one will make you an expert. This doesn’t mean you can’t shift from being a community pharmacist to a hospital pharmacist. You can certainly change your mind once or twice. But more than that I think you need a serious time to consider your strengths and weaknesses before jumping to another field. You may also need to check your motives and goals going to a certain direction.
You need to fill up your brain with the right information in
order to become competitive. It is like putting things in proper cabinet organizers. For instance, if you want to work abroad, you need to choose community
pharmacy or hospital pharmacy to practice. Why? Because most of the jobs abroad
require these posts. Having said that, you need gain at least 2 years of
experience on either field.
Let me just share to you that not all countries recognized
our curriculum. Although it’s given that we really need to be qualified in
order to practice our profession abroad. Still other countries thought that we
don’t meet their standards. Some even suggests that we need to study for four more
years. That is ridiculous, isn’t it?
Anyhow, I believe there many good companies in the
Philippines that can give pharmacists better and stable jobs. Just research about the company before applying for a position. Then, if you think
the job suits you well, prepare for your application. Make a neat and
organized resume and get ready for the interview.
To the fresh graduates and newly qualified pharmacists, God
bless to your chosen field of practice and to you future jobs.

Street Trivia
One of common things you can find in cities of European
countries are the so-called buskers. They are people who show their talents in
busy streets while soliciting money from the viewers. Some of them sing, dance,
act and play instruments. Some of them even use high quality gadgets like line 6 spider iv to assist them in their performances. With the use of such device, a
man playing a guitar can amplify the beauty of every note he plucks which will definitely make you give some of dimes.
