Protecting Your Hearing

Loss of hearing can be ruled out of the scenario if proper preventive measures are taken into consideration. Having your ears check regularly and staying away from loud music will help a lot in taking care of your precious ears.

Always use proper and tested head set or earpiece  and do not put volume too high as it may damage your ears seriously. Yu can have a look at different cool and great pieces at musician'sfriend.com . When exposed to loud sounds excessively, you can freely use earplugs to protect your ears and take a break from such surrounding.

Avoid using pointed objects, cotton buds or even over-the-counter ear drops in cleaning your ears. These may damage your ears or may lead to serious ear infection. Rule of thumb, leave your earwax alone.

Noisy appliances contributes in damaged ears. Do not run those appliances all at the same time. Put your washing machines or any other noisy appliances in rooms with doors so you can close it every time it's running.

Before taking any medication consult your doctor or pharmacist as some drugs can harm your ears.

FDA Advisory No. 2014-080

This post is published to help the FDA Philippines to inform the public about the FDA advisory No. 2014-080 released on October 28, 2014. The said advisory is all about the false, deceptive and misleading advertisement of My Jinga Juice that has been circulating in social media and internet.

According to the advisory signed by Atty. Nicolas B. Lutero III, CESO III (Assistant Secretary, OIC FDA Philippines), "My Jinga Juice" (categorised as food product) has made different health claims which violates RA No. 3720 as amended by RA No. 9711 and AO No. 2014-0030 clearly specified in VII. Misleading Declaration/ Represetation/Prohibited Claims.

Please be informed that any food products approved by the government agency shall not cure any symptoms or disease. In this regard, any health claims written in the packaging or advertisement must be read carefully and should be taken seriously. If in doubt of the food products bought in the market or any other vendor, you can freely contact FDA Philippines in their official email address at info@fda.gov.ph . The above case is currently under investigation.
