If you are dreading your next dental appointment, then take comfort in
the fact that most dental visits are fairly straightforward and won't require
much of your time or energy. Spending an hour or so at Genesis Dental can go a long way towards
preserving and improving your oral and overall health.
Exam and Cleaning
Most appointments will begin with a routine examination and teeth cleaning. During this examination, your dentist will assess the overall health and appearance of your teeth, mouth, and gums. They will provide you with information on the dental options available to you and what you need to maintain or improve your smile.
These
standard appointments are virtually painless and can typically be completed in
under an hour. If you feel particularly nervous or anxious about your upcoming
dental appointment, then you may consider sedation dentistry. This will allow
you to enjoy a state of deep relaxation while the dentist completes any
necessary dental work.
Your Child’s First Appointment
Your child's first appointment will be much different than your first appointment with a new dentist. It is important to find a pediatric dentist who specializes in family dentistry and can meet your child's unique dental needs. They tend to have a gentle touch and a friendly demeanor that can help to instantly put your child at ease. They also tend to have a more child-friendly office and can even assist with certain bad habits, such as thumb sucking.
Schedule an Appointment Today
Your first appointment is basically a consultation and will provide you with time to speak with the dentist about which options are available to you. If you don’t feel comfortable with your dentist of choice, then you don’t need to continue visiting them after the first appointment.
Call Genesis Dental or
your local dentist to schedule an appointment as soon as possible. Small dental
problems, such as tartar build up, can quickly become a serious problem that
requires extensive dental work, if you don't visit the dentist as often as you
should. To save yourself time, money, and frustration on future dental visits,
make sure to visit your local dentist at least once every six months, or as
often as recommended.
I believe that the only longer dental visits I have is the very first time I was there. they have to get all information about my dental history, xrays and such...then later once they always seen you the lesser it is, unless you have other issues.
