Interactive Metronome

What is a metronome?

It is a device use by musicians to count beats or pulses while they practice playing music.  It is amazing how this tool help musicians to establish their accuracy of playing use. A group of researchers also managed to discover the effects of using an interactive metranome on children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).

The study, which was conducted at College of Human Medicine, Michigan State University, was participated by 56 boys from ages 6 years old to 12 years old. All the boys were diagnosed of ADHD. The aim of the researcher is to help the kids with ADHD to improve their reading and language skills as well as to help them to focus on matter at hand.

Improvement in motor control, attention and chosen academic skills were noted on boys who have undergone the training exercises using Interactive Metronome. Even though the study gave good results, still using such tool is not yet concluded as treatment for ADHD.
