Common Causes of Problems in a Pharmacy Business


Building and managing a pharmacy business are no easy tasks. Every now and then, difficult situation arises that tests your patience and skills to the limits. You even hope that you’re like a Challenger lift that no matter how heavy the problems or challenges, still your shoulders are strong enough to carry the weight. Any business if conveyed with courage and determination despite the problems along the way, surely, successes will dominate.



There are common causes of problems in a Pharmacy Business that you can possibly encounter. Stating these will allow us to think and prepare for solutions and even conceptualize the precautionary measures on how to avoid them.
  1. Staffs not well trained
  2. Unorganized surrounding that cause dispensing errors
  3. Insufficient knowledge on identifying original and fake merchandizes
  4. Buying from un-authorized dealer/distributor
  5. Not keeping records of all important documents like delivery receipts and official receipts
  6. Over stacking of slow-moving drug product or any other merchandizes
  7. Low stacking of fast-moving drug product or any other merchandizes
  8. No inventory system
  9. Not paying taxes
  10. No registered pharmacist on duty

Does owning a pharmacy business a bad idea? I don’t think so. As long as you know the ins and outs of it, you’ll be just fine. Just follow the rules and don’t be discouraged by problems.
