It's good to see that there are other ways to keep safe this coming new year.
Health Assistant Secretary Enrique Tayag encourages children at Gagalangin, Tondo to dance instead of lighting or playing with fireworks/firecrackers in welcoming the New Year as Department of Health (DOH) statistics indicate that young children are the usual victims during the revelry. Tayag reiterated the DOH warning to children not to pick used, lighted firecrackers. About 80% of all fireworks-related injuries are blasts or burns without amputations, 13% are eye injuries and 6% are blasts or burns requiring amputations. - DOH
